I hand build all of my pieces, starting from a hunk, slab, or coil of clay and shaping with my hands until it feels right. I enjoy the inherent connection to the material that handbuilding invites, one that takes shape slowly over the many stages of making.
I’m drawn to highly utilitarian forms with a touch of whimsy and sometimes, wonk. I’m inspired by the colors and textures of my grandmother’s home in Bangladesh, seasonal produce, and the infinite richness of the color brown.
